Hiya!

I'm Angbeen (pronounced ung-bean) and I'm a writer from Lahore, currently living in London. My academic and creative interests, amongst others, include senses of belonging and displacement, the embodied experience of migration, and the domestic sphere as a site of both violence and renewal.

I graduated in 2022 with a degree in Sociology from LSE. At present, I work as a consultant helping firms implement best practices for transparent and accessible communications in the financial services sector. The work on this website includes poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, research I've done and assisted on, and a smattering of reporting, music reviews, and podcast production from my student journalism days.

You can find my work in Sweet Tree Review, Delta Poetry Review, and Gender and Development Journal. My work has also been shortlisted for the Zeenat Haroon Rashid Prize and I'm a Best of the Net 2024 nominee.

When I'm not writing, reading, or listening to Madonna, I run Page of Wands, a weekly writing group based in Peckham.
